What: I’m here today writing about what maybe some improvements we can make to the discord. This started with some confusion for myself personally as to how I could get involved with Marketing BizDev Guild, I was invited to the channel #mbd-general, but I couldn’t see every channel. I had to go back to the guild select to opt-in and only then was I able to see everything else, including the #mbd-start-here channel. I was only able to fix this issue for myself after Nas had pointed it out to me.

This experience wasn’t really “first-timer” friendly. In my opinion we are missing out on being able to activate more members due to a lack of structure in knowing how and where to start, what information is important, what conversations are happening now, and why are we even having the conversations we are.

Going back to the start page. This is a person’s first introduction to a guild and the onboarding should be seemless, especially with our plans to grow the overall DAO, the guilds need to be ready for that influx of new talent hungry to contribute as well and we want to be able to empower them to jump right in. Here are my thoughts on that:

Coming from this issue I started to notice other things about our discord, that may or may not be issues to the broader community as well, but are in my eyes.

Where: The developer dao discord.

Who: Developer dao members. We have 5.5k owners of the NFT with 7.8k NFTs out there.

But, I only see 164 devs in the discord, plus several unlabeled persons (are these people partners, people who haven’t picked a guild (do they know that there are guilds?).
